La Dolce Vita Restaurant |
"La Dolce Vita" means "the sweet life," but it's much more than just
a phrase. To Italians, "la dolce vita" embodies the enjoyment of the
finer things in life. The concept doesn't have to do with monetary wealth. It
means enjoying special moments with people that you love and indulging in
things that leave you feeling warm, satisfied and content.
When we were
choosing a name for our La Jolla Italian restaurant, we couldn't think of a
more perfect way to express what we wanted to give to our guests than "La
Dolce Vita." From the start, we wanted to offer something beyond what
you'll experience when dining at other La Jolla restaurants--we wanted to
create an inviting space where people could come to enjoy delicious Italian cuisine in La Jolla, sip fine wine, relax and feel like they were being served
by family.

We hope
you'll experience a taste of the good life whenever you dine with us, but
that's not all you'll taste! Every day, we cook up delicious Italian
specialties inspired by the cuisine of Raddusa, Sicily, the hometown of owner
Enzo Catiglione. Each dish is carefully prepared from scratch using the
freshest ingredients possible, so that you truly feel like you're eating a home
cooked Italian meal.
There's no
better way to start a dinner at La Dolce Vita than with an appetizer like our
traditional
bruschetta with Roma tomatoes, onion, basil and garlic or our thinly sliced filet mignon carpaccio served the traditional way with capers, lemon and freshly shaved parmesan. Next, warm up with a bowl of our soup of the day or try one of our four starter salads like our traditional caesar or the mixed greens tossed with our homemade Italian vinaigrette. From there, you can try one of our 15 pasta dishes or one of our seafood, veal, steak or chicken options. Make sure you save room to finish with tiramisu or an authentic Sicilian cannoli for dessert!
Because all
of our dishes are made in house to order, we can accommodate any special
requests you may have. We even offer gluten free and whole wheat pastas.
You can't
have a proper Italian dinner without a glass of wine, and at La Dolce Vita, we
offer wines you won't find at any other Italian restaurant in San Diego. These
wines come from Enzo Catiglione's personal vineyard and were lovingly hand
crafted by him. He'll be glad to recommend the perfect one to bring out the
flavors of any dish that you choose from our menu if you wish!
If you're
looking for Italian restaurants in San Diego to enjoy a delicious lunch or
dinner and know you'll be treated like family, we hope you'll stop in and see
us here at La Dolce Vita.
